FELIPE CALDERON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The history began when former supervisor Felipe Faderan of Bunawan District, who happened to be a close friend of Clemente P. Calderon, a resident of Km. 22 Budbud, Bunawan, and Davao City, who at that time occupied land areas along the national highway. The latter decided to donate part of his land for a school site. They agreed that the name of the school would be crafted from their names—Felipe Faderan and Clemente Calderon—to complete the school name, FELIPE CALDERON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
On September 29, 1079, Clemente Calderon formally turned over the school site, which was about 1 590 sq. meters. In the early years, it started only as a primary school from Grades 1–IV. But as the years rolled by and as the population in the community increased, the demand for complete elementary education was realized. Today, Felipe Calderon Elementary School has five school buildings, including the two-story building with four classrooms initiated by Honorable Congressman Vincent J. Garcia, and there is on-going construction of a three-story building donated by our school adoptor, Frey-Fil Philippines. The population is 592 learners from kindergarten to Grade VI, under the care of 17 teachers spearheaded by a principal.
